Sound design and audio branding

A brand sounds like something, whether you design it or not. I create sound logos, sonic identities and sound design for brands, series and media productions.

Sound as a signature

An audio logo is the audible counterpart of a visual mark: short, consistent and unmistakably yours after a few listens. For podcast series and media productions I design that signature, plus the family of short variants around it. Think of a long version for the intro, a short one for transitions and a stinger for the end.

Sound design within a production

Beyond branding, I work on the sound inside a production: transitions, atmospheric layers and sounds that give the edit its structure. Because I am a composer rather than a separate sound supplier, that sound design usually lives in the same sonic idiom as the music. Score and sound then flow into each other instead of competing for attention.

Instruments that come from the concept

For Nationaal Zwerfgoed, a podcast by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management about litter, I built percussion instruments from found waste and wrote the complete soundtrack with them. The subject literally became the instrumentarium. That approach works well when a brand or production has a story that can be made audible.

What you get
